Amen, Even so, come Lord Jesus.

When the Word became flesh and made His dwelling with us, (John 1:14) He, fully God and completely divine became human as well. Scripture and scientists and students of prophecy have concluded that He fulfilled all of the prophecies written about His first coming, and that it is very likely that He will fulfill all of the prophecies left when HE comes back again. I’ve been fascinated with these prophecies for some time. I’ve wanted to write a post about this , and this season seems like the perfect time.

I’m sorry for the amount of posts I’ve put out this month. Many are re-blogged from elsewhere, their authors have such good words, that I wanted you to hear them. The ones that I’ve shared this month all relate to Christmas, so I’ve had a shorter window to put them out! In January, I’ll go back to my old schedule 🙂

This article is taken from here. Do visit the site for further clarification and more information. http://christianity.about.com/od/biblefactsandlists/a/Prophecies-Jesus.htm

Some times this life is hard. The pain and sorrow and grief can get to be overwhelming . Those times it’s difficult for me to see that God has given me moments and days and years of good and happiness and joy as well. Some days I want to see Christ so badly, I’d be all right if He came back that very moment! and some days I dream and plan and want to be there in the future, children’s graduations and weddings and grandkids ( I should mention at the outset that my children are 5 and 4 years old now!) and travel and ministry opportunities. I vacillate between the now, the then and the to- come . Like I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I love reading the Messianic prophecies and see how they were fulfilled in the life and death and resurrection of Jesus. I also have hope reading the promises and prophecies that haven’t yet come to pass, that they  will. Soon. Later. In my lifetime. Or not. But always in God’s time and part of His plan and greater purpose. For that I’m learning to find peace and joy in the present, no matter what’s going on. For that I’m resting in His promises especially that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living ( my lifetime 🙂 ) and I will wait on Him and for Him.

Psalm 27:13-14 I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.
14 Wait for the Lord;
    be strong and take heart
    and wait for the Lord.

Merry Christmas. I have a few posts lined up for the rest of the month, but I will go back to my old schedule in the New year.

With love and joy and Christmas cheer to you and yours,

Vanessa.

He shall reign forevermore.

Isaiah 9:6-7  6For to us a child is born,

to us a son is given,

and the government will be on his shoulders.

And he will be called

Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God,

Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7 Of the greatness of his government and peace

there will be no end.

He will reign on David’s throne

and over his kingdom,

establishing and upholding it

with justice and righteousness

from that time on and for ever.

The zeal of the Lord Almighty

will accomplish this.

This is How Many Kings by Downhere.

Luke 1:32-33  He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants for ever; his kingdom will never end.’

This is Mary, did you know? by Ceelo Green I love the scenes from the movie Son of God as the background.

Luke 1:46-55 Mary’s song                                                                                                                            46 And Mary said: ‘My soul glorifies the Lord
47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour,
48 for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed,
49 for the Mighty One has done great things for me –
holy is his name.
50 His mercy extends to those who fear him,
from generation to generation.
51 He has performed mighty deeds with his arm;
he has scattered those who are proud in their inmost thoughts.
52 He has brought down rulers from their thrones
but has lifted up the humble.
53 He has filled the hungry with good things
but has sent the rich away empty.
54 He has helped his servant Israel,
remembering to be merciful
55 to Abraham and his descendants for ever,
just as he promised our ancestors.’

1 Chronicles 29:11  Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power
and the glory and the majesty and the splendour,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, Lord, is the kingdom;
you are exalted as head over all.

This is Breath of Heaven (Mary’s Song) by Amy Grant .

Isaiah 7:14  Therefore the Lord himself will give you[a] a sign: the virgin[b] will conceive and give birth to a son, and[c] will call him Immanuel.[d]

Matthew 1:20-21  But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, ‘Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[a] because he will save his people from their sins.’

This is Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel.

Luke 1:67-79 Zechariah’s song
67 His father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied:                                    68 ‘Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
because he has come to his people and redeemed them.
69 He has raised up a horn[c] of salvation for us
in the house of his servant David
70 (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago),
71 salvation from our enemies
and from the hand of all who hate us –
72 to show mercy to our ancestors
and to remember his holy covenant,
73 the oath he swore to our father Abraham:
74 to rescue us from the hand of our enemies,
and to enable us to serve him without fear
75 in holiness and righteousness before him all our days.
76 And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High;
for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him,
77 to give his people the knowledge of salvation
through the forgiveness of their sins,
78 because of the tender mercy of our God,
by which the rising sun (Dayspring in KJV) will come to us from heaven
79 to shine on those living in darkness
and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the path of peace.’

This is The Newborn King by Paul Baloche.

1 John 4:9-10 This is how God showed his love among us: he sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Galatians 4:4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

This is The Little Drummer Boy by Celtic Singers.

Luke 2:10-14   But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.’ 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 ‘Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favour rests.

This Son of Man, and Son of God, willingly gave up His place by the Father’s side and came to this earth that He created, for you, for me. If you were the only person He needed to save, He would have still done so. He chose us first, not because of anything that we did or can do or will do. He loves us with a love that cannot be appreciated or explained. This Christmas, let us remember Him. And come back to Him, wholly and completely surrendered to Him. He is The Word made Flesh, The Wonderful, The Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. He is Jesus.

In Him,

Vanessa.

Let His praises rise.

So… while I’m working on my next posts, I thought I would share some of my favourite Christmas songs with you. I’ll try and get as many of them in before December 25th, but I would love to hear back from you. Which ones do you like/love? and why?

Jesus took on the form of a human, and left everything behind, to come and save sinners. And that’s the reason for this season.

Danny Gokey’s Lift up your eyes.

Why I love this song? Because of these words…..

He shall be called wonderful
Counselor, Almighty God
He shall be called Prince of Peace
The Lord of Hosts
The Hope for us

For King and Country’s Baby Boy.

Why  love this song? Because of these words……

See, the King is coming down
And He’s here without a crown
The Baby Boy without a bed
Giving life back to the dead
And hear the angels shout it out
As the people come and bow.
Unexpected majesty
Alleluia, what a King

This is an oldie, but no less a favourite.  Boney M’s Mary’s Boy Child and Oh! My Lord.

Why I love this song? Because of these words….

Oh a moment still worth was a glow, all the bells rang out
there were tears of joy and laughter, people shouted
“let everyone know, there is hope for all to find peace”.

Oh my Lord
You sent your son to save us
Oh my Lord
Your very self you gave us
Oh my Lord
That sin may not enslave us
And love may reign once more

Tom Inglis’ A King is Born.

Why I love this song? Because of these words……

A King is born, (He is in the manger now)
A King is born, (humbly come and humbly bow)
A tiny boy, (reaching out a tiny tiny hand)
A King is born this day, in Bethlehem.

Lauren Daigle’s Noel.

Why I love this song? Because of these words……

Son of God and Son of Man
There before the world began
Born to suffer, born to save
Born to raise us from the grave
Christ the everlasting Lord
He shall reign forevermore.

Chris Tomlin (And All Sons and Daughters) ‘s What Child is This?

Why I love this song? Because of these words……

So bring Him incense gold and myrrh
come peasant King to own Him
The King of kings salvation brings,
let loving hearts Enthrone Him.

Handel’s Messiah: For unto us a child is born.

Why I love this song? Because of these words……. and the harmonies and parts and the gorgeous melding of voices 🙂

For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government
Shall be upon His shoulder; and his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
(Isaiah 9: 6)

Michael W Smith’s Son Of God.

Why I love the song? Because of these words…….

Son of God, love divine, timeless one, steps in to die
Who could dream of such a thing with us now the King of Kings
Man and angels bow and sing, singing Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Merry Christmas 2016 🙂 May you remember Jesus throughout, and be filled with His joy, love and peace.

With love, Vanessa.
